Membership of theStrategic Projects & Investment Group is open to professionals, practitioners, and partners committed to advancing the links between nature and health within the Tees Valley.

All participants are required to be members of the Tees Valley Nature Partnership (TVNP) to ensure shared accountability and alignment with the partnership’s wider strategic goals.

The group provides strategic oversight of project development, investment and delivery across the Tees Valley Nature Partnership. The group provides oversight and direction for the development and delivery of projects across the Tees Valley Nature Partnership.
Bringing together partners from across sectors, it supports the coordination of activity, alignment of priorities and progression of investment opportunities — ensuring that projects are deliverable, credible and aligned with regional need.
The group plays a key role in moving from partnership working to delivery at scale, supporting the development of a strong and investable pipeline of projects across the Tees Valley.

After leaving Newcastle Polytechnic and a short stint in conservation volunteering I joined the newly formed National Rivers Authority working in water regulation and pollution control in the Tees and Wear. I transferred to the Environment Agency in 1996, initially leading an environmental protection team in Tees Valley before taking up the role as Tees Catchment Coordinator, now working in partnership to improve the water environment and achieve Water Framework objectives.

Supporting links between nature recovery, public health, social prescribing, and prevention.

Identifying opportunities to align nature projects with health, wellbeing, and inequality agendas.

Informing funding and investment cases where social impact is a key driver.

Supporting collaboration between health bodies, local authorities, VCSE organisations, and delivery partners.
