Privacy Policy
Summary
Here's what you need to know about how we collect and use your data. Too busy to read the full policy? You can click below for the highlights in Plain English.
TVNP is the Data Controller. This means we decide how and why your information is used. Although we are currently based with the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, we are responsible for keeping your data safe.
We mostly collect things like your name, phone number and email, when you sign up for our newsletter or join an event. Where we work with partners, we may collect additional details with your prior agreement. We also collect some technical info, like your IP address, when you browse our website to help us understand how the site is being used.
Usually, it comes directly from you. However, if one of our Partners (like a local council or wildlife group) shares your contact details with us for a project, we will tell you exactly who gave us that information when we first get in touch.
We only share your information when it is strictly necessary.
With our Host: We share data with the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust for office support, IT hosting, and legal admin.
With Partners: If you are involved in a specific project, we may share relevant details with our partners (like local councils).
With Service Providers: We use secure platforms like Wix and Eventbrite to run our website and events.
Never for Sale: We never sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.Because our website is built on Wix, some information might be stored on secure servers outside the UK (like in the US). We only do this using high-level legal protections to ensure your data stays as safe as it is at home.
Only as long as we actually need it to work with you or to meet legal rules. If you’re on our mailing list, you can unsubscribe at any time by letting us know via the email links on this website.
You are in control. You can ask to see what data we have on you, ask us to fix mistakes, or tell us to delete your info entirely. Just send us an email via the links on this website.
Please talk to us first so we can fix it! If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data watchdog, at ico.org.uk or call them on 0303 123 1113.
