Tees Valley Nature Partnership (TVNP):  Unlocking investment for nature and for a stronger, greener Tees Valley.

Where investors, communities and nature come together to shape the future of our region.

Our Vision: A Tees Valley where nature, communities and industry thrive together

The Tees Valley is a place where industry and nature sit side-by-side shaping our economy, our health and our future.  Our natural assets are vital to wellbeing, climate resilience and creating a place people want to live and invest in.

Protecting what remains is no longer enough.  We need to take a more joined-up, long term approach to nature recovery.

The TVNP brings together over 40 organisations to make this happen – aligning expertise, unlocking investment and delivering real change across the region.

Meet the Team

The TVNP is working to restore and improve nature across the region.  Our team brings people together – from local authorities and businesses to environmental and community organisations - to turn ideas into action.

We work across the whole of the Tees Valley to ensure nature is part of everyday decision making, supporting partners and communities to create lasting benefits to nature, wildlife and people.

Director of Conservation & Climate Change

"The North York Moors National Park Authority is proud to be a partner of the Tees Valley Nature Partnership. Nature knows no boundaries and collaborating with our neighbours is essential to ensuring habitats for nature are bigger, better  and more joined up so plants and animals can thrive and move freely.

We’re looking forward to collaborating on projects that support nature recovery and strengthen the resilience of our landscapes, helping wildlife and communities across the Tees Valley and  the North York Moors National Park area to flourish for generations to come."

"I love being part of Tees Valley Nature Partnership because it really feels like we have the ability to transform ambition into action. It is a privilege to work with like-minded individuals and organisations who care deeply about nature restoration, unlocking investment, and restoring habitats to deliver measurable change for climate, wildlife, and communities across our region.

By supporting policies and projects that protect and enhance nature in our region and bring together businesses and the community, we shape a greener future, revitalise wild places, and prove that through collaboration, our region doesn’t just grow, it thrives, creating a lasting natural legacy for generations to come."

Our Strategic Groups:

Putting nature back at the heart of Teesside

We believe the key to a thriving natural environment is putting nature at the heart of decision making - whether it's the choices we make as individuals, by supporting community action, driving sustainable business leadership or by shaping local government policy. To achieve this vision of more nature for more people across the Tees Valley, the TVNP's Governance Board guides our work with partners in these four key strategic groups: Natural Assets, New Environmentalists Working Together (NEWTs), and our Members Forum.

The Natural Assets Group provides technical insight, place-based expertise, and strategic advice to support nature recovery across the Tees Valley.
It focuses on what needs to happen on the ground, and how this aligns with wider strategy and investment.

NEWTs provides a strategic youth and early-career voice within the Tees Valley Nature Partnership, supporting pathways into skills, careers, and leadership linked to nature, environment, and place.
It ensures the Partnership is investing in future capacity, not just current delivery.
