Protected Site Strategy Phase 1 Industry Engagement
Protected Sites Strategy (PSS)
The Tees Valley Nature Partnership is supporting delivery of the Protected Sites Strategy (PSS), a programme led by Natural England to improve the condition and long-term resilience of protected sites.
Within the Tees Valley, this work is focused on the estuary and surrounding landscapes — one of the most complex and environmentally significant areas in the UK, where industry, infrastructure and internationally important habitats exist alongside one another.
TVNP has been commissioned to lead engagement with industry, partners and stakeholders, bringing together expertise from across sectors to:
identify risks and pressures on protected sites
explore practical solutions
support the development of coordinated, deliverable actions
This work is helping to shape a shared understanding of how nature recovery can be achieved alongside economic activity, and is informing future approaches to investment, delivery and partnership working across the region.
The PSS is a key step in developing a long-term, investable approach to nature recovery in the Tees Valley.
